sNews 1.5 RC2 released!

Great news - sNews, one-file CMS engine has been updated to second release candidate. And finally, you there's a changelog.

Shoot, this happened just as I've been finishing the guide I promised on Solucija Forum for the Additional Article Position Options mod I've done for 1.5 RC1, so I'll have to revise the whole article I was about to post - but there shouldn't be any changes because only bugs were fixed in this latest release.
Anyway, it's my fault, being too slow with this, champs at Solucija.com are doing a great job!

This should be the latest release candidate so I guess if no new bugs are found, we should soon have a stable release.

Hey Dom - howzit going? The question on how to have more specific positioning options with the extra function came up on the sNews forums today. I answered saying that it looked possible by cloning the extra() function... much the same way I did cloning the left() function in 1.4. Then I remembered your posts on doing it and just had a look there... which led me to here.

I just did a quick run-through comparing your mod instructions to the 1.5.27 RC2 snews.php file, and about the only change I can see is that the references are changed to "extra_new" instead of "side_new".

So... I just wanted to jog your memory and see where you ended up with this so far.

Hey there. I hear you're working on the exact mod I need, but I realized over half way through your walkthrough that a little more that extra _new and side_new had been changed. I hope things are coming along with this mod as it would be a greatly appreciated addition to sNews.

Yes, unfortunately I've been kind of staying away from Solucija and sNews for the last few weeks, not intentionally but because of some other obligations and haven't been able to concentrate and finish this mod - incidentally I've seen this post yesterday myself.

It's nice to see this is needed to somebody else other than myself so that's exactly the kind of motivation that will get me to work on this mod today. Can't promise anything but I've got today and tomorrow to work on it before I go out of town again.

About this side_new thing, the instructions on Solucija forum are what worked on sNews 1.5 RC1 and as I see something must have changed in RC2 and I'll try this mod on RC2 right now to see what's happening.
